Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Welcome to our FAQ page! We've compiled answers to the most common questions we receive to help you have a seamless and enjoyable experience. Can't find what you're looking for? Please don't hesitate to contact our support team.
SECTION 1: ABOUT OUR DIGITAL FILES
1.What exactly am I purchasing?
You are purchasing a digital file, NOT a physical product. When you buy a design from us, you are getting an instant digital download that typically includes multiple file formats (like SVG, PNG, DXF) so you can use the design with various software and for different projects. No physical item will be shipped to you.
2. What do the different file formats mean?
- SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic): This is a vector file that is ideal for cutting machines like Cricut and Silhouette. It uses points and paths, meaning it can be resized to any dimension without losing quality. The layers are usually pre-grouped for easy color separation in design software.
- PNG (Portable Network Graphic): This is a raster image file with a transparent background. Our PNGs are high-resolution (300 DPI), making them perfect for print-on-demand (POD), sublimation, digital scrapbooking, or use as clipart in documents. Note: Unlike SVG, resizing a PNG too large can cause pixelation.
- DXF (Drawing Exchange Format): This is a vector file type primarily used with the free version of Silhouette Studio (Silhouette Basic Edition), which doesn't support SVG files. It is another excellent option for cutting machines.
3. What software and machines are your files compatible with?
Our files are incredibly versatile and work with:
- Cutting Machines: Cricut (Explore, Maker, Joy series), Silhouette (Cameo, Portrait, Curio), Brother ScanNCut, Siser Juliet, and more.
- Design Software: Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio (including the free Basic Edition), Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape (free), CorelDraw, and other software that supports these file types.
SECTION 2: ORDERING & DOWNLOAD PROCESS
4. How do I download my files after purchasing?
After completing your purchase, you will receive a confirmation email with a download link. You can also access your files at any time by logging into your account on our website and going to your "Order History."
- Go to your Account Page -> Order History -> Click on the order -> Click "Download Files."
- The files will be delivered in a compressed ZIP folder.
5. What is a ZIP file, and how do I open it?
A ZIP file is a compressed folder that bundles all the different file formats (SVG, PNG, DXF) together into one single, easy-to-download file.
- On a Windows PC: Right-click the ZIP folder and select "Extract All." Choose a destination, and the files will be unpacked.
- On a Mac: Simply double-click the ZIP folder, and it will automatically extract the files into a new folder in the same location.
- On Mobile Devices (iPhone/Android): You will need a free app like "Files" (iOS) or "WinZip" (Android) to unzip the folder and access the files.
6. I can't find my download email! What should I do?
Don't panic! First, check your spam or junk mail folder. If it's not there, follow these steps:
- Log in to your account on our website.
- Navigate to your "Order History."
- Find your order and click the "Download Files" button.
If you're still having trouble, please contact us with your order number and email address, and we will help you immediately.
7. Can I get a refund on a digital product?
Due to the digital nature of our products and their immediate delivery, we generally do not offer refunds or exchanges. The files cannot be "returned."
However, we absolutely want you to be happy. If you are having technical issues with a file, if it is corrupted, or if you downloaded the wrong file by mistake, please contact our support team within 7 days of purchase. We will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include helping you troubleshoot or, if the file is genuinely faulty, providing a replacement.
SECTION 3: USAGE & LICENSE (VERY IMPORTANT!)
8. What can I make with these files?
With our standard Personal Use License, you can create an unlimited number of physical, finished projects for yourself, your home, or as gifts. You can not sell these finished items. Examples include:
- Custom t-shirts, mugs, and tumblers for your family.
- Holiday decorations for your home.
- Scrapbooking layouts and greeting cards for friends.
- Party decorations and invitations for a personal event.
9. Can I sell the physical items I make with your files?
YES! We love supporting small businesses. If a product listing includes a "Commercial Use" tag or is stated in the description, you are granted a license to create and sell up to 200 physical, finished products using that design.
You CAN: Use the design to make and sell physical items like shirts, hats, mugs, signs, stickers, etc.
You CANNOT:
- Resell, redistribute, or share the digital file itself in any way.
- Use the design as part of a digital product for sale (e.g., a digital planner, another SVG bundle).
- Use the design for Print-on-Demand (POD) platforms like Redbubble, Society6, or Amazon Merch without an extended POD license (if offered). Always check the specific product listing for its commercial terms.
10. Can I modify or edit the designs?
Absolutely! We encourage you to get creative. You can resize, recolor, and combine our designs with other elements to create your unique finished projects. However, you cannot resell the modified design as a new digital file.
11. Am I allowed to share the files with my friend or crafting group?
We kindly ask that you do not. When you purchase a design, you are buying a single-user license. Please direct your friends to our store so they can purchase their own license and support our small business, allowing us to continue creating new designs.
SECTION 4: TECHNICAL SUPPORT & TROUBLESHOOTING
12. The file won't upload to Cricut Design Space! What's wrong?
This is a common issue with an easy fix! You must unzip the folder first. Design Space cannot read ZIP files. Please unzip the downloaded folder on your computer and then upload the individual SVG file from inside that unzipped folder.
13. My design is cutting out with extra lines/boxes, or the text is disconnected.
This usually means you are uploading a PNG file by mistake, or the SVG layers need to be welded/attached.
- Solution 1: Ensure you are uploading the SVG file, not the PNG.
- Solution 2 (Cricut): In Design Space, if text or cursive letters are disconnected, select the layer and click "Weld." If multiple elements are shifting, select all layers and click "Attach."
- Solution 3 (Silhouette): Use the "Trace" function if you accidentally uploaded a PNG, or use the "Weld" tool for text.
14. Why does my PNG file look blurry when I print it?
Our PNGs are high-resolution (300 DPI), which is the standard for quality printing. If it looks blurry, it's likely being stretched or resized beyond its intended dimensions. Always ensure your design software or POD website is set to maintain 300 DPI, and avoid scaling the image up significantly.
15. Do you offer tutorials on how to use the files?
Yes! We want you to feel confident. We've included a text file on every purchase with a direct link to a video tutorial that shows you how to upload and use these files in Cricut Design Space and Silhouette Studio. This will help you get started quickly and confidently!
